COVID-19 SALON RESTRICTIONS UPDATE
May 19, 2020 9:41 amThe Australian government has recently released a roadmap to easing COVID-19 restrictions following a three stage plan to re-open the economy.
Within the three stage roadmap , it was outlined that beauty salons and treatments would be permitted to operate upon stage 2, scheduled on the 8th June 2020 (provided stage one is successful and no set backs of increasing infection rates).
The Road Map designed to help guide each State and Territory, who will ultimately each be responsible for the timing and level of easing restrictions. It is therefore important to keep updated with your local State or Territory updates on restriction currently in place.
From 15 May 2020, Northern Territory and Queensland beauty and nail salons will be allowed to reopen and offer services, however business owners will also be required to follow additional safety guidelines and procedures set in place by each state.
NSW, TAS, VIC, WA, ACT & SA have not moved forward with beauty salons re-opening, however this will be re-evaluated over the coming weeks, supported by the Federal Governments recommendations that salons be able to trade from 8 June 2020.
Below are some useful links to help you understand what restrictions are relevant for your current situation and state during the Coronavirus lockdown period.
